Dog Star Quill Earrings

Sirius, the brightest star visible during the winter solstice, has long been recognized across many Indigenous cultures as a marker of time, renewal, and alignment with the natural world. 

This design is a special collaboration with Lauren Badoni, who generously contributed it to the BV Inspo Box for November—a piece rooted in intention, artistry, and shared creativity.

The beadwork is made with size 11 Charlotte cut beads, natural porcupine quills, and 24k gold plated stainless steel smokey lavender zircon micro chain, hand cut high-grade wampum shells, the deep, defined natural lines within the shell are a true marker of quality—the more pronounced the lines, the rarer and more valuable the wampum. Then backed with smoked deer hide.

Incredibly lightweight and finished with satin bead edging, each piece catches the light with a subtle, brilliant sparkle—meant to move with you, not weigh you down.
